Home News
Lynn, Massachusetts -- The 1st District Air Rifle Competition was held at the old Massachusetts Army National Guard Armory in Lynn, MA on December 02, 2006.  The competition began at 0830.  Shooters shot 20 rounds in each of the three shooting positions, prone, kneeling, and standing.  Teams consisted of five shooters with the top four counting for score.

Over 60 shooters representing 13 schools from 5 different states competed in this year's event.  The 22 teams that competed made this year's event the largest since its inception.

"It was a long and trying day, but in the end I think the bigger purpose of getting these cadets out to fire in a large shoulder to shoulder event was accomplished.  The meets was not without its problems but in the end we did our best to make sure that everything was correct and that the cadets went away with a positive experience" said match coordinator CWO3 Muth.

As a result of the hard work of CWO3 Muth, SgtMaj Oswald, and the cadets and administration of Lynn English High School, the cadets of 1st District did just that, walked away with a positive experience.  Congratulations to all shooters.  The following results are final:

1.  Lynn English High School
2.  Rahway High School
3.  Gloucester High School
4.  Mexico Academy and Central High School
5.  Elizabeth High School
6.  High School
3.  Lynn English High School
4.  Madison Park Vocational Technical
5.  Elizabeth High School
