Besty Lane High School MCJROTC Honors Veterans 
Besty Lane, KY (November 9, 2007) -- On Friday, November 9, 2007 students and staff at Betsy Layne High School participated in a Veterans Day Ceremony that proved to be both educational and patriotic. MCJROTC Instructor Sergeant Major Glen T. Ripkoski and MCJROTC students took great pride in organizing the ceremony.

Daniel Boone High School Marine Corps JROTC Wins First Place...
Rutherfordton, NC (March 3, 2007) -- The Daniel Boone High School MCJROTC unit took 1st place overall in the 6th Annual R-S Central Drill and Marksmanship Competition in Rutherfordton, North Carolina on Saturday, 3 March 2007. The team surpassed its previous record by winning a total of 26 team and individual awards to top a field of twelve schools. Dustin Humphreys took 1st place in Individual Drill Exhibition. Joshua Sadler teamed with David Guck, taking 1st place in the Dual Exhibition Drill. In Armed IDR Drill Phillip Adkins took first place honors. In Armed IDR and Unarmed IDR Knockout Drill, the following cadets took home awards, Richard Vidrine, Rebecca Ramos, Samantha Gantt, Byron Barnes, Preston Thronburg, Joseph Fowden, Jeremy Hartsock, Jacob Kaszuba, Joshua Sadler, Dustin Humphreys, and David Guck. The team received a total of ten first place trophies as well as designation of best Marine Unit.

The Daniel Boone Drill Team regularly competes in armed and unarmed drill, personnel inspection, color guard, exhibition drill and individual precision military drill. Unit Commanders for this years team is Dustin Humphreys, Preston Thornburg, Mitchell Carr, Steven Warren, David Guck, Joshua Sadler and Andrea Sessis.

A Cadet's Memories from a Trip to Camp Pendleton, CA
Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA (June, 2006) -- Summer comes and summer goes. This past June 2006 will be one that cadets of Donna High School will remember for the rest of their lives. It was an experience for these young students that gave them a broader outlook at military way of life including training, living conditions and their dining facilities. Cadets enjoyed the outstanding food provided by the Marine Corps Dining Facility.

Saturday morning, June 10th at 7:00 a.m. oclock., the MCJROTC departed from Donna and arrived at Edson Range, Camp Pendleton, California Sunday at noon. It was a 26-hour straight drive and only the bus drivers were relieved. No sooner when we arrived training began. Training began with instructions on how to do their own racks...

Fallen Heroes Remembered
Gar-Field High School students and staff and the Gar-Field Fallen Heroes Memorial Committee, chaired by Bill Willis, science teacher and Vietnam veteran, remembered former Gar-Field High School students and students from Potomac and Hylton High Schools through a moment of silence on Friday, May 25. “Five Prince William County Public Schools graduates have made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield,” said Willis.
